These Pikaclones have become a staple of every generation of Pokémon and will likely continue until the franchise comes to an end. There are eight Pokémon across the eight generations of the games that fit into this unofficial category.

Pikaclones share Pikachu’s Electric typing as well as take inspiration from rodents in their design. Designate two of your Pokemon as 'sacrifices' and have them moves like Leer and Growl to reduce the defense and attack of Brocks Pokemon (attack first, so that the Pokemon can actually do their job). Now when the game starts, you will have Pikachu as your starter. Its the long way round, but I was able to beat Brock when my highest level Pokemon were a level 10 Pikachu and a level 10 Pidgey. Now the author of Pokemon Lightning Yellow brings this into Pokemon Fire Red. Except the graphics, Pokemon Yellow and Pokemon Fire Red are almost the same but in Pokemon Yellow, Pikachu is always follow you. These “Pikaclones” share various characteristics to the franchise’s mascot. Pokemon Lightning Yellow is a ROM Hack of Pokemon Fire Red with some changes. Pikachu is the most recognizable Pokémon in the franchise, and Game Freak/The Pokémon Company have attempted to capture its popularity with an unofficial sub-category of Pokémon. In Pokémon’s 25-year history there have been close to a thousand Pokémon introduced, with some taking more inspiration from older Pokémon designs than others.
